“What I’ve come to appreciate in preparing notebooks that take five years to finish is that they become time pods full of every stage, obsession, adore, and exasperation I’ve had in the process of stirring it, ” said Sorese. “My brand-new bible THE SHORT WHILE has been the by-product of a time in my life where I began to take real broth in all the ways people can make a home for themselves and was just wondering what determines my working life, which I turned into an unintentionally autobiographical science fiction thriller full of sexuality robots.”
THE SHORT WHILE is the latest liberation from BOOM! Studios’ award-winning Archaia imprint, home to inspire graphic tales such as Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Ryan North, and Albert Monteys; The Sacrifice of Darkness by Roxane Gay, Tracy Lynne-Oliver, and Rebecca Kirby; Big Black: Stand at Attica by Frank “Big Black” Smith, Jared Reinmuth, and Ameziane, We Served the People by Emei Burell, The Realist by Asaf Hanuka, New World by David Jesus Vignolli, About Betty’s Boob by Vero Cazot and Julie Rocheleau, Waves by Ingrid Chabbert and Carole Maurel, The Grand Abyss Hotel by Marcos Prior and David Rubin, and more.
“Relationships can often be complicated, chaotic, uplifting, lovely, and dire throughout their course. Yet they’re worth every second of perfection and turbulence because even within THE SHORT WHILE that we know another person, they often help shape who we are well into the future, ” said Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Jeremy has captivated the resplendence of compassion detected and affection lost in his epic new graphic tale that illustrates the deeply moving story of such relationships in a near-distant future between two men who, like the rest of us, are looking for’ the person’ to whom they can entrust their hearts and souls.”
